Books have long been the only carrier of text messages to undertake simple reading and browsing functions, and its own characteristics as a subordinate attribute is covered by the unity of the function. However, in the new media context, the change of roles and functions urgently reflects on the existence and value of self-existence. In the process, the beginning of the book returns to its own concern, self-expression to achieve its own ontological value. I hope that by discussing the book’s ontology, to explore the issue of books from a deeper level, in order to trigger more thinking about the design of books.
