Andrographispaniculate is a commonly used herb for the treatment of liver diseases in India. Its main component, andrographolide, has the effect of protecting liver and gallbladder. The authors used galactosamine to induce liver injury, studied the liver protection and anticholinergic activity of andrographolide and compared them with silymarin. 250-270g adult Druckrey rats were used in experiments.
