教师利用图片进行词汇教学或者指导学生形成心理图片以便记忆是词汇教学中常见的手段,但是词汇教学中是否存在图片效应,在母语研究和第二语言研究中都没有得到一致的结论。本文从图片对第二语言词汇学习的影响方面,综述了国内外近70年间的研究。结果发现,学者们在第二语言习得中图片作用的研究方面存在较大差异。未来的研究应该关注图片对不同年龄、不同水平、不同母语背景的学生学习具体词、抽象词或者有文化意义的词的作用,以期能够对第二语言教学产生积极影响。
Teachers use pictures to carry out vocabulary teaching or guide students to form psychological images so that memory is a common means in vocabulary teaching. However, whether there is a picture effect in vocabulary teaching or not has no consistent conclusion in both native language and second language studies. This article reviews the research on vocabulary learning in second language in recent 70 years at home and abroad. The results show that scholars have great differences in the study of the role of the pictures in SLA. Future research should focus on the role of pictures in learning specific words, abstract words or words of cultural meanings for students of different ages, levels and backgrounds, with a view to having a positive impact on second language teaching.
