自1980年春涉足志域,已历15个春秋了.15年来,除总篡了《如东县志》(江苏人民出版社1983年10月版)以及《如东县志》修订本(江苏古籍出版社1985年8月版)外,撰著或与他人合著了5部学术专著:《县志编修探微》(安徽人民出版社1983年5月版)、《新地方史志学简编》(四川省社会科学院出版社1986年3月版)、《新方志编纂实践》(上海人民出版社1988年10月版)、《实用方志编纂研究》(沈阳出版社1989年9月版)、《方志管理学》(江苏科技出版社1991年11月版),以及近百篇学术论文.其中有两部专著获江苏省社会科学院优秀成果三等奖;还有两部专著获江苏省地方志优秀成果一等奖.在这方面虽积累了百数十万字的成果,但多为探索之论.真知灼见不多.《黑龙江史志》编辑部新辟专栏《自鸣园地》约写本文,要对过去所论作个归纳,以简明的语言呈献给读者,还真有点身在庐山不识庐山的感觉.文章将遵循编辑要求着重阐述我对新编地方志事业的几点“创见”:
