太行山深处的褶皱里有一个村庄,名曰西蛮掌,是山西省长治县西火镇的一个行政村。西蛮掌的300多户山民们,世世代代蜗居在老雄山脚下,默默耕耘,繁衍生息。多少年来,地处大山深处的百姓始终被贫困落后缠绕着。祖祖辈辈出山的路,就是眼前这条不足两尺宽的高低不平、坑坑洼洼的泥土?
