The CPPCC National Committee held a bi-weekly consultative forum in Beijing recently, putting forward opinions and suggestions on the issue of “traditional village protection in the process of urbanization.” CPPCC members Feng Jicai, Qiu Baoxing, as well as experts and scholars Cao Changzhi and other speakers at the forum. The members believe that since the 18th CPC National Congress, all regions and departments have done a great deal of useful exploration to strengthen the traditional village protection, improve the living environment and realize the sustainable development of traditional villages. In April this year, the “Guiding Opinions on Practically Strengthening the Protection of Traditional Chinese Villages” promulgated by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and other 4 departments were promptly implemented.
