According to the amount of P_2O_5 in the whole rock, the Fluoride-rich granites in South China can be divided into high-phosphorus and low-phosphorus subclasses with large geochemical differences. High phosphorous subgroups are characterized by low silicon, strong aluminum over and low total REE, whereas low phosphorus subclasses are the opposite. In feldspar, mica and other mineral chemical composition of these two types of granites are also different. Phosphates in high-phosphorous sub-type granites exist in the form of structural phosphorus and apalite in feldspars while phosphorus in low-phosphorus sub-type granites is mainly found in phosphate minerals such as apatite.
