Liu Mingchuan was a general of the late Qing Dynasty. He was an ancestral peasant from generation to generation. He started his own career. As a result of his accomplishment of being Zeng Guofan, Liu Mingchuan has been promoted to the governor of Zhili by his army. He had actively participated in the suppression of the peasant uprising in the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom and the Nien Army and was a late Qing dynasty who dyed and wore the blood of the Hong Kong Red Army. However, he made outstanding contributions in fighting the imperialist armed aggression and building Taiwan. For such historical figures as him, we should make a concrete analysis of history, of seeking truth from facts, and should not confound his merits for doing so.
