作为我国全国区域化探扫面样品分析一级监控用的首批水系沉积物标准参考样GSD1~8系列,历经三年研制,于1983年7月通过了国家级鉴定会,对五十多个元素提出了推荐值或参考值(以下均简称为定值),全国有41个实验室的上千名分析工作者为此做出了贡献,共对68个元素和成份完成了五万多个测定。加拿大地质调查所和法国地质与矿产研究所也提供了数据。投入的分析手段多达26种11类(见表),参与中子活化分析的有中科院原子能所、高能所及本所。从表可见,各类方法所完成的工作量,就元素数量而论,中子活化占有优势,三个中子活化实验室已提交36个元素的结果,占已定值元素总数(54个)的66.7%。
