第15届世界杯足球赛亚洲区预选赛4月8日至7月11日将分成六个小组展开激战,其后六支小组第一名队伍再进行预选赛总决赛,筛选出两支球队代表亚洲进军1994年美国世界杯。本文仅就小组赛形势作一分析展望,供读者参考。第一组:中国、伊拉克、约旦、也门、巴基斯坦如无意外,该组冠军应在中、伊之间产生。中国国家队自施拉普纳执教以来,所取得的进步是有目共睹的,但这种进步就目前来看还似乎仅仅停留在拚劲的加强和精神面貌的改善等非实力性因素上,而在技术、战术、体能、意识等关键性环节上,施拉普纳较之他的几位中国前任,并未取得显著的进步。因而中国队的表现也呈现不稳定状态。当然,这里有历史遗留的问题。
