Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of budesonide inhalation for gestational bronchial asthma. Methods From January 2010 to March 2014, 90 cases of acute exacerbation of gestational bronchial asthma admitted to Department of Respiratory Medicine, Affiliated Hospital of Jiujiang University were divided into control group and observation group according to the principle of randomization, 45 cases in each group. Patients in both groups were given routine treatment. Patients in observation group were given budesonide inhalation therapy on the basis of routine treatment. The duration of wheezing disappearance, the time of wheezing disappearing and the duration of hospital stay were observed in both groups. The indexes of lung function (FEV1%, FEV1 / forced vital capacity (FEV1 / FVC%) and the maximum expiratory flow as a percentage of the normal expected value (PEF%)]; before and after treatment, hematuria routine examination, liver and kidney function, and observed adverse drug reactions. Results The disappearance of wheezing, disappearance of wheeze and hospital stay in observation group were shorter than those in control group (P <0.05). There were no significant differences in FEV1%, FEV1 / FVC% and PEF% before and after treatment in the two groups (P> 0.05). The FEV1%, FEV1 / FVC% and PEF% in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group <0.05). No hematuria, abnormal liver and kidney function and obvious adverse reactions occurred in the two groups during treatment. Conclusions Budesonide inhalation can effectively improve asthma symptoms and pulmonary function in patients with bronchial asthma in pregnancy, and is safe.
