In early October 1849 Engels sailed from Genoa, Italy, to London, England. During a full five-week journey, others enjoyed drinking and leisurely while on board, and Engels concentrated on oceanography. From time to time, he recorded the location of the sun, the direction of the wind, the changes of tide and the coast. Einstein once with friends, friends did not come on time, he pacing back and forth, thinking about the problem. Half an hour later, a friend came hurriedly and said, “I wasted your time!” Einstein replied, “No, I did not delay because I was waiting for you and I had solved an important math problem ”
