随着沿江区域经济的发展,长江地区经济带的概念已走下纸面,这无疑对长江水运提出了更高的要求。从地图上看,长江航运里程7万多公里。从统计上看,长江的运量也达到世界第一。但我们不得不面对这样一个事实,作为全流域黄金水道,我们的母亲河实际上是成色不足的。与同样规模的密西西比河、莱茵河以及伏尔加河相比,长江中的高等级航道只能达到前者的零头。干支航道条件不匹配、中游航道滩多水浅、航槽演变剧烈等短板为长江水运能力处处设限。由此可见,要想让长江在经济上发挥更重要的作用,达到“开发腹地,促进两端”的
