In November 1992, Jiangsu Traffic Planning and Design Institute started the pre-feasibility study on Yangzhou Yangtze River Highway Bridge in Zhenjiang. In March 1998, the State Development Planning Commission approved the project proposal of Yangzhou Yangtze River Highway Bridge in Zhenjiang. On March 2, 2000, the State Council Premier Office discussed and approved the “Feasibility Study Report of Yangzhou Yangtze River Highway Bridge Project in Zhenjiang.” July 1, 2000, Zhenjiang Yangzhou Yangtze River Bridge pilot pile project drilling. On August 8, 2000, the Ministry of Communications formally approved the bridge by handing over the highway [2000] No. 411 document
