The general comments on expert systems and numerical classification are discussed, and their roles in improving soil classification systems are discussed. The inductive and deductive parts of the expert system appear to correspond to the establishment of classification categories and the gradual classification of categories, but expert computer systems are still used only for some simple classifications to date. The numerical classification so far is useful for the analysis and organization of regional base-level soil data; no attempt has been made in the advanced integrated soil classification due to the lack of a wide range of reliable data. It can be concluded that numerical classification may have a beneficial role in establishing soil classes and generating classification rules using expert systems. Expert system reasoning programs and interfaces with users enable better alignment and classification of valid data, increasing the value and predictive power of soil information, especially to skilled users.
