Reinforced concrete structures in China are currently using steel grade I reinforcements with a yield strength of 335 MPa (34 kgf/mm2). The strength grade steel has good plastic toughness and weldability, but the strength is low. Some structural members often increase the amount of steel due to insufficient strength of the steel, and may even cause excessive cross-section reinforcement and construction difficulties. The low intensity also directly affects the improvement of the structural safety level, and reduces the actual service life or use of the building. However, the existing Grade II steel with a yield strength of 370 MPa (38kgf/mm~2) is not able to achieve a strength level due to the limitations of the composition and process.
