梅勒的纪实文学主要有新新闻体和非虚构小说这两大部分,在梅勒的一生中,这两大文体占据大部分作品,并在他整个文学创作史上占有重要地位。本文主要从梅勒的两类文体为入手点,并探究其在写作特点上的突破。分析梅勒的代表作品,笔者认为,新新闻体写作过程中,运用明确的主观性以及纯熟的小说技巧能作为新闻报道撰写的最佳方式,也能颠覆人们对此类文体的传统理念。非虚构小说写作过程中,梅勒走出了自己的道路和想法,将原来真实的身份隐藏在小说内,并将真实的自己写入事件报道中,通过自由叙述的方式,还原事件的真相,并获取较好的文学效果,可以说是超越了同类型的作家水平,也超越了自己。 Mailer’s documentary literature mainly consists of two parts, the new news piece and the non-fiction piece.
