我国现有各类高校在校生达2300多万人,2008年就有550多万普通高校毕业生走向社会。现在的大学生、研究生,几年、十几年以后,将会成为我国社会主义现代化建设各条战线的骨干。对当今大学生的培养教育,将关系到国家的命运、民族的前途。加强高等学校党的建设,尤其是加强高校基层党组织建设,是中国共产党长期执政的基础,是培养社会主义事业建设者和接班人的历史责任。
There are more than 23 million students in all kinds of colleges and universities in our country now. In 2008, more than 5.5 million ordinary university graduates went to the society. Nowadays, undergraduates and graduate students will become the backbone of all fronts in China’s socialist modernization drive after a few years and a dozen or so years. The training of college students today will be related to the fate of the country and the future of the nation. Strengthening the party building in higher education institutions, especially strengthening the grass-roots party organizations in colleges and universities, is the foundation for the CPC’s long-term ruling and the historical responsibility of fostering the builders and successors of the socialist cause.
