PURPOSE: This study was designed to analyze trends in the incidence of coronary heart disease in Finland between 1993 and 2002 after correcting for the effects of troponin. METHODS AND RESULTS: This population-based registry of myocardial infarction registered all coronary heart disease events in four regions of Finland from 1993-2002 (n = 14782).
