Violin bow was originally made of rattan. Transferred from Asia to Europe after the use of wood, to the branches on the tree Chun when the pole, tied to the bow hair, the lower end of the rod wrapped with cloth, and later the wedge on the pole is called the bow. This bows can still be seen in the paintings of Italy, indicating that they have been used until the 16th century. At the end of the seventeenth century, the arch had been replaced by a hook that hooked over any tooth of a small piece of toothed iron set on the edge of the bow to change the tension of the bow. The toothed bow now survives in Sweden In folk instruments.
