Visual acuity has always been one of the core experimental indicators that subjects try to report subjectively in their experiments on self-awareness. By analyzing the self-awareness mirror reflex experiment, Gibson’s theory of eco-optics and Chang and Cao (2017) confirm this view on different theoretical levels: visual perception is very central to the formation and shaping of self-awareness effect. With the advent of virtual reality technology, the information received by the user’s visual perception system, along with his body action information, has resulted in several different mixed experiences. Virtual avatars in a virtual environment become a manifestation and extension of the self-awareness of a user living in the real world in the virtual world, which has a very strong influence on the self-awareness and presence of the users in the real world. When a user uses a virtual avatar to perform activities in the virtual world, his real self is also reshaped.
