This kind of Zen is reflected in the duality of its architectural space: this duality is the space of real existence and the space of imagination. This spatial prototype inherits from Japan’s traditional number of houses. In a comparative way, this article analyzes Ando’s works and traditional houses, and analyzes how they inherited the duality of creating such a space.
