Recently, South Korea’s “Central Daily News” reported that the new chairman of Korea Telecom, Hwang Chang-gyu announced a few days ago that the company will invest 4.5 trillion won (about 4.38 billion US dollars) to deploy “Gigabit Internet ” service. The company will use a combination of fixed and wireless technologies to build Gigabit (1Gbps +) infrastructure. In addition, the company plans to launch converged services using planned network plans, including ultra-high definition IPTV, smart power services and personalized e-health services.
