日本学者冈本孝先牛《粟特钱币考》一文(刊《中国钱币》1987年第一期,以下简称《粟考》),就苏联古钱学家斯米尔诺娃女士对syspyr MLK’钱币考证为7世纪中叶史国王沙瑟毕一说.提出了不同的看法。《粟考》作者通过考释大量的汉文史料,并根据这类钱币的出土地点集中在撒马尔罕和片吉肯特,以及钱币在外形、纹饰和铭文上与康国王统铸钱形式上的一致性,而认为是康国王所铸钱币的见解,是很具说服力的。但是继而又论证《隋书·西域传》中的康国王代失毕,就是钱币铭文上的sysppyr王,这个结论有许多疑
