科技写作是应用写作的一个分支,是以科学和技术为重要内容的写作。在欧美国家的一些大学理工科系中,除专门课程外,关于学术理论、调查报告的写作,也要讲一定数量的课时。在我国,近几年来,有的大学将它列为选修课,有的大学开设了讲座,一些厂矿、科研设计单位、学会、协会都相继举行各种类型的讲习班、研讨会、学术报告会等,这些都需要科技工作者把所学到的和刻苦研究出来的成果公布于众,这些都需要较高的科技写作水平。
