一个编辑,与这样的书稿失之交臂,不能亲手将它奉献给读者是令人遗憾的。去年年初,美籍华人作家沈宁将他的新作《百世门风》发到我的电子邮箱里,读之,我深感这是一部十分厚重的,关于中国家族文化的力作。但编辑与书稿也是需要缘分的,当时机缘不巧,使我只得割爱。好在这本书今年1月由中国青年出版社的同行成功推出,为我们浮躁的图书市场添了一道夺目的风景。与沈宁认识也有好多年了,但从不了解他有这样辉煌的家世——他是拥护共产党的 It is a pity that an editor can not devote himself to a reader without handing over such a manuscript.
