肾上腺皮质激素是肾上腺皮质分泌的所有激素的总称,按生理作用可分为:糖皮质激素、盐皮质激素和性激素,但通常所指的肾上腺皮质激素,不包括性激素。盐皮质激素主要有醛固酮和去氧皮质酮,影响水盐代谢,对糖代谢影响较少,对维持机体正常的水、盐代谢起着重要作用,主要用于慢性肾上腺皮质功能减退症,纠正失水、失钠和钾潴留等,维持水与电解质平衡,但此类药门诊用药较少,多为病房用药。
