Isothiazolone具有广谱的抗菌作用,尤其在防霉方面效果显著。用0.1%的水溶液对标本作防腐观察3年,见溶液清晰,标本色泽无变化,大体结构层次清楚,无霉菌生长。光镜下观察动物防腐标本的组织切片,结构清楚,细胞完整。抑菌试验表明,0.05%-0.1%的水溶液对常见污染细菌及霉菌均有良好抑制作用。对长霉标本上分离出来的黄曲霉菌等,抑制效果可靠。Isothiazolone水溶液稳定,半分解期为93.28月,按0.1%水溶液投料防腐,抑霉作用可保存7年有效。其水溶液无色,无味,无刺激。毒性试验结果,LD_(so)为175mg/kg,Ames法突变试验阴性,致畸实验表明不引起胎鼠骨骼畸形。
