从1984年我国第一所国家承认学历的民办高校——北京海淀走读大学成立到现在,民办高校经历了从无到有,从小到大的发展历程,已大致形成高等教育的半壁江山。许多高中毕业生在这里圆了他们的大学梦,成为各个行业的实用型专业人才。民办高校为缓解我国经济建设对各种专业人才的需求起了重要作用,海淀走读大学傅正泰校长以他的行为带动和影响了首都民办高等教育事业的发展,他先进的教育理念和发展高等职业教育的成功经验,在我国教育史上谱写了光辉篇章。
