The current hot topic is the exchange rate issue. High-ranking U.S. government officials and even President Bush have all started to exert pressure on our government frequently and even set a timetable for the appreciation of the RMB exchange rate and threatening to use the so-called “law” to deal with China. In light of this, Premier Wen Jiabao recently met with a delegation of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. He said that the reform of the RMB exchange rate system is firm and unwavering.
