Shallow polymetallic sulphide deposits in the Aeolian island arc. P. Current and geological records, such as Marani, have documented volcanic massive sulphide deposits produced by hydrothermal cycling of the seabed in subducted plate tectonics. The active mineralization found in the modern backarc environment can be seen as a modern model of the Miocene sulphide mineralization that has been extensively studied in the Hokuriku region of Japan.
