Objective: To understand the dynamic state of fasting blood glucose in retired workers in the region and provide a scientific basis for preventing and controlling diabetes mellitus. Methods: The glucose-oxidase method was used to measure the fasting blood glucose in 3921 retired workers over the age of 50 from 2013 to September 2013 in our hospital. Results: The patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) were 3.99% at 50-60 years old, 4.51% at 60-70 years old, 4.60% at 70-80 years old and 5.05% at ≥80 years old. The GLU increased to the lowest in 50-60 years old group, The highest in the 80-year-old group, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Among them, DM accounted for 4.58% of people over the age of 60 and IGR accounted for 6.74%. Conclusions: The fasting blood glucose abnormality rate is obviously higher with the increase of age. However, there are many complications of hyperglycemia in the elderly, which seriously affect their quality of life and are also one of the main factors leading to cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases [1] Caused great attention.
