Endothelial thrombin Thrombomodulin activates plasma protein C (PC) enzyme as an important endogenous antithrombotic mechanism. However, it is unknown whether activated protein C (APC) is produced in human cerebrovascular. Only a limited understanding of the expression of thrombomodulin in human cerebrovascular endothelium is available.
