2008年12月24～25日,2009年全国民政工作会议在广州隆重召开。会议的主要任务是:深入贯彻党的十七大、十七届三中全会和中央经济工作会议精神,认真落实中央应对国际金融危机的政策措施,总结2008年工作,部署2009年工作。同时,交流养老服务事业发展的经验,研究推进加快发展养老服务事业。李学举部长出席会议并作工作报告。罗平飞副部长、窦玉沛副部长分别主持25日上午、24日上午的会议。广东省委副书记、省长黄华华出席会议并致辞,广东省副省长李容根,广州市委副书记、市长张广宁,广州市副市长陈国等出席会议。部党组成员、纪检组长曲淑辉,部党组成员、全国老龄办常务副主任陈传书出席会议。会上,来自广州、北京、浙江、沈阳、南京、青岛、成都、西安的代表围绕为老服务进行了经验交流;广东、上海、河北、黑龙江、江苏、湖北、青海、深圳的代表围绕民政工作改革创新介绍了发展思路;全体与会代表还实地参观考察了广州市荔湾区逢源街社区服务中心,广州友好老年公寓及广州市老人院等养老服务机构;李学举部长与山东、福建、湖南、青岛四个地方试点的民政厅(局)长共同开通全国民政门户地方试点网站。各省、自治区、直辖市民政厅(局)和新疆生产建设兵团民政局主要负责同志、办公室主任、社会福利处处长,各计划单列市、省会城市民政局长;部机关各司局、全国老龄办、部各直属单位、部管社团主要负责同志出席会议。广东省各市民政局的有关领导列席了会议。
