Trelleborg, Sweden, has developed a new belt conveyor that is said to deliver goods over long distances, requiring shorter connections, reducing the risk of corrosion and impact damage, and maintaining good fatigue characteristics. In all of the above, the new belt conveyors outperform ordinary belt conveyors. This belt, called Trellamid, is reinforced with DuPont Kevlar fibers. It has the same high strength steel wire, low elongation, but lighter weight, thus reducing transportation costs and increase productivity.
