茅山老区是全国著名的六大山地抗日根据地之一。镇江市所辖81%的乡镇占了茅山老区的半壁江山。新形势下茅山老区开发需要一位既有丰富的领导经验,又热心老区工作的同志担任。戚中立曾任市人大副主任。他的父亲在1938年就参加了新四军。从小耳濡目染,使他对老区有深厚的情结。临退休时,他愉快地接受组织安排,于1998年挑起了镇江市老促会理事长的重担。
Maoshan Old Quarter is one of the famous six major mountain bases in the country. 81% of townships under the jurisdiction of Zhenjiang accounted for half of the old district of Maoshan. Under the new situation, the development of the old Maoshan district needs a comrade who has both rich leadership experience and enthusiastic work in the old district. Qi Zhongli served as deputy director of Municipal People’s Congress. His father joined the New Fourth Army in 1938. Growing up from childhood, so that he has a profound feeling of the old quarter.
