“I was a born rebel, first rebellious family, to society, then rebel leader, to the public.” This is the ego profile of contemporary Israeli writer Amos Oz, who met with me for the first time . That was the Israeli academic center in Cairo in December 1991. The director of the Center, Professor Josie Geneat, knew that I had read Ozzy’s novels and both wanted to interview him during both visits to Israel. However, as he happened to go abroad to give lectures and missed his arms, so while he was invited to lecture in Egypt this time, The professor arranged for him to meet with me, “Oz’s first Chinese reader.”
