南昌市的西北郊有一座奇山,鸟瞰似飞鸿,故又名飞鸿山。相传,西汉末年,南昌县尉梅福为抵制王莽专政,退隐飞鸿山,修道成仙。后人为纪念梅福,遂改飞鸿山为梅岭。于是,梅岭之名流传至今。梅岭,森林面积26万亩,林木覆盖率73.7%,是名副其实的省城“绿肺”和南昌“氧吧”;梅岭,年平均气温14.5-17.6℃,比南昌市区低3-5℃,海拔841米的洗药湖气温更比南昌市区低8℃左右,名列全国第十三大避暑胜
