中国老一代艺术家们的艺术成就虽然很高,但在他们处于艺术的颠峰时可以有声、有名,但却无影、无钱。孟贵彬老师就属于没福气的老艺术家之一。我知道孟贵彬的名字,是因为电影《怒潮》中的插曲《送别》;而真正与孟老师相识则是在1990年。孟老师给人的最初印象是:貌不惊人、平淡无奇,却和蔼可亲、平易近人,是个很随和的小老头。后来,因与孟老师很熟了,他便告诉我他从艺的一些往事。我曾问起他为电影《怒潮》演唱《送别》时的情形,他讲道:
Although the artistic accomplishments of the older generation of Chinese artists are very high, they can sound and famous when they are at the peak of art, but they have no shadow or money. Meng Guibin teacher belongs to one of the old artists who did not bless. I know Meng Gui-bin’s name because of the episode “Farewell” in the film “Fury”; the one that really met Master Meng was in 1990. Meng teacher gives the initial impression is: looks not surprising, bland, but amiable, approachable, is a very easy-going little old man. Later, because of familiar with Master Meng, he told me some of his art from the past. When I asked him about his performance of “Farewell” for the movie “Fury,” he said:
