从胡乔木现已面世的文献材料看,他比较集中而且直接谈论秘书公文写作问题,在其一生中大概只有两次。第一次是1958年3月4日在“写文件方法座谈会”上的讲话,这篇讲话稿后以《怎样写好文件》为题收入《胡乔木文集》第三卷。第二次是在中共十一届三中全会之后,他受命负责起草《中共中央关于建国以来党的若干历史问题的决议》(以下简称《历史决议》)期间,就《历史决议》的起草与修改,陆续所作的30余次谈话。这些谈话经整理另拟题目,已有18篇先后收入《胡乔木文集》第二卷和《胡乔木谈中共党史》两书中。《胡乔木书信集》所收内容涉及《历史决议》起草与修改的7封书信,也应归入第二次谈话范畴。

The contents of “Hu Qiao Mu She Xin Ji”, which cover the drafting and revision of the “Resolution on History”, should also fall into the scope of the second conversation.
