3月1日,2006环球小姐中国总决赛在哈尔滨落幕,来自江西赛区的齐芳获得冠军；3月23日,中国环球小姐总部在北京召开新闻发布会,册封齐芳为2006中国环球小姐；仅过了一个星期,3月29日,中国环姐总部再次召开新闻发布会,宣布撤销2006中国环球小姐齐芳的封号,并要回了皇冠和绶带。据悉,选美冠军被撤销,在中国的各项选美赛事中尚属首次。
