2001年4月18～23日在西班牙古城巴伦西亚举行了第7届世界莎士比亚大会,来自世界30多个国家和地区的250所大学或研究机构的500多名专家、学者、教师和导演参加了会议。其中有不少专家、学者来自世界知名大学,如英国的牛津大学、剑桥大学,美国的耶鲁大学、斯坦福大学,法国的巴黎第四大学,意大利的罗马大学,澳大利亚的悉尼大学,日本的东京大学,印度的德里大学,我国的南京大学等。这次大会由国际莎士比亚协会和西班牙莎士比亚基金会共同主办,西班牙莎士比亚基金会负责人和国际莎士比亚协会主席、著名莎学学者斯坦利·威尔斯担任主持。
From April 18 to April 23, 2001, the 7th World Shakespeare Conference was held in Valencia, the ancient city of Spain.
