This essay explores the interactive relationship of the translation criteria and ideology from four perspectives:translation is confined and controlled by ideology,at the same time,the process of translation produces ideology.Keeping a good balance between translation and ideology is one of the essentials to achieve the aim of faithful translation,and more importantly,it will help EFL learners to be a qualified interpreter in future.
