漾濞彝族自治县南部,清水朗山余脉白竹山西北麓的龙潭乡,东临瓦厂乡,隔着漾濞江与巍山相望,南与鸡街乡山水相依,西与永平县龙街镇接壤,北靠太平、顺濞二乡,为三县五乡交界之地,辖国土面积146平方公里。乡政府驻地龙潭村,乡因村得名。全乡有白竹、密古、清河、水竹坪、龙潭、富厂、己路河7个行政村,51个村民小组,59个自然村落。乡内分散居住着彝、汉、白、苗、傈僳、傣、普米、回等8个民族,全乡总人口近7千人,少数民族人口占全乡总人口的76%。龙潭在宋、元时期分属永昌府、蒙化直隶厅,明清至民国,区划小有变化,1949年前属漾濞县南区,后为白竹区,几经变迁为今日之龙潭乡。

Township government resident Longtan Village, Township named for the village. The township has white bamboo, Migu, Qinghe, ShuiZhuPing, Longtan, rich plant, Jialuhe 7 administrative village, 51 villagers group, 59 natural villages. The township is scattered with 8 ethnic groups including Yi, Han, Bai, Miao, Qionglai, Dai, Pumi and Huihui. The total population of the township is nearly 7,000, and the minority population accounts for 76% of the total population of the township. Longtan in the Song and Yuan Dynasties belong to Yongchang House, Menghua Zhili Hall, the Ming and Qing Dynasties to the Republic of China, small changes in the area, before 1949 is Yangbai County Southern District, after the Baizhu District, after several changes to today’s Longtan Township.
