由于砂铁矿具有选矿简单、操作容易、淘洗后品位高、杂质少、经烧结后即可冶炼等优点,最适于群众炼铁之用。因此,介绍砂铁矿床的特征及其工作方法是有实际意义的。我校最近在教育与生产劳动相结合的方针指导下,组成了砂矿队,在青岛附近长约100多公里的海岸上,进行了重砂取样,调查了其中的砂铁矿及件生的稀有元素。所踏勘的铁矿床虽然不大,但适于“小土群”的需要,因为我国海岸线很长,河網也很密,此类砂铁矿床也会分布很多,很可能找出较大的矿来。现将我们的工作作一简单介绍,希望广大地质工作者密切注意砂铁矿床的找矿工作。
