新闻回放:一位盲人,在语音提示下用鼠标找到搜索框,输入一个关键词,立即完成了一次搜索。这是2007年4月25日下午百度“盲道”(dao.baidu.com)宣布上线的一幕。百度“盲道”的上线,使之成为中国第一款无障碍互联网产品。百度首席财务官王湛生介绍说,“盲道”在产品开发前期,产品开发专家与技术专家组成专门小组,在中国残联和盲人协会支持与帮助下,做了大量调研工作,“现在的‘盲道’虽然看上去和百度首页没有太大区别,但是从界面到功能,都更符合盲人的使用习惯”。此外,与搜索内容不直接相关的东西都不会出现在“盲道”页面上,结构也做了“分类显示”的简化。中国残联直属中国盲文出版社信息无障碍中心主任何川表示,“虽然通过互联网视障人士增加了与外界沟通和自力更生的机会,但目前主流网站缺乏专门的无障碍设计,盲人上网通常要比常人多花费数倍的时间。因此百度的”盲道“对我们来说,就好像一条‘无障碍快车道’,将帮助更多盲人利用网络信息自强自立。”
