In the 1930s, the Chinese people held an indomitable struggle against the aggression and the reactionaries on the two fronts: on the military front, the Red Army, led by Mao Zedong and Zhu De, heroically countered the Kuomintang’s counterrevolutionary military “siege campaign On the cultural front, the left-wing literary and art war fighters led by Lu Xun, the bannerman of the Leftist League, smashed the enemy’s counter-revolutionary ”encirclement and suppression“ campaign in the area ruled by the Kuomintang and wrote the brilliant chapter with fruitful results. The struggle against ”encirclement and suppression“ on the cultural front and the anti-encirclement and suppression campaign in the Soviet Area are inter-related and mutually supportive, and the two are inextricably linked. Our column entitled ”Special History of the History“ will be a series of articles titled ”The Song of the Red Courage - A History of the Left-suture“ written by Comrade Yao Xin, a researcher of the history of the Left Joint Society, focusing on introducing the struggle against the ”encirclement and suppression" on the art and literature front to highlight the readers.
