1958年11月3日,美国科学院和全国科学研究理事会的人工呼吸特别委虽会开会审议了美国陆军部、红十字会等单位主持的人工呼吸研究所获得的资料。与会者一致认为:口对口人工呼吸法是在没有任何急救设备、没有旁人帮助的情况下能够立即采用的最实用的人工呼吸法,不管病人是多大的年龄,也不管呼吸停止的原因是什么。
On November 3, 1958, the Special Committee on Artificial Respiratory of the American Academy of Sciences and the National Council for Scientific Research met for the purpose of considering the information obtained by the Institute of Respiratory Sputum under the auspices of the U.S. Army Department and the Red Cross Society. The participants agreed that the mouth-to-mouth resuscitation is the most practical method of resuscitation that can be used immediately without any first aid and without the help of others, regardless of the age of the patient or whatever the reason for the cessation of respiration.
