高职英语教学的最终目标是帮助学生实现从学习语言到使用语言的转换,培养学生在特定职业范围内运用这门语言的能力。《高职高专教育英语课程教学基本要求》明确指出“英语课程不仅应打好语言基础,更要注重培养实际使用语言的技能,特别是使用英语处理日常和涉外业务活动的能力”。因此,高职英语的教学必须考虑学生的英语学习需求和用人单位的人才需求,满足不同专业对它的不同要求,为学生提供真正实用的服务。专门用途英语教学(ESP)使语言学习服务于专业学习,帮助学生在实际工作中以最快速度直接了解各专业领域的最新发展动态,使学习与实践相互促进。引入专门用途英语教学(ESP),与相关专业英语教学有机结合起来,这样才能培养出既精通专业又有较强的外语能力的复合型人才。本文从专门用途英语的教学原则、教学理念以及高职学生的英语基础等方面分析了专门用途英语理论融入高职英语教学的可行性。
The ultimate goal of vocational English teaching is to help students to achieve the conversion from learning a language to using a language and cultivating a student’s ability to use the language within a specific occupation. The Basic Requirements of Teaching English Curriculum for Higher Vocational Education explicitly states that English courses should not only lay a solid foundation for language but should also focus on developing skills in practically speaking languages, especially the ability to use English to handle daily and foreign business activities. Therefore, the teaching of higher vocational English must consider the English learning needs of students and the needs of employers, to meet the different requirements of different professions, to provide students with real and practical services. ESP (ESP) enables language learning services in professional learning to help students get to know the latest developments in various fields as fast as possible in practical work, and promote mutual learning and practice. The introduction of specialized English teaching (ESP), and related professional English teaching organically combine, so as to be able to train not only proficient professional but also a strong ability of foreign language complex talents. This article analyzes the feasibility of integrating ESP into English teaching in higher vocational colleges from the teaching principles of ESP, teaching philosophy and the English foundation of vocational students.
