在湖北省山区的恩县,今年经过分区分类,大面积试种双季稻,完全得到成功,并且产量很高,是恩县水稻生产上划时代的一件大事。 通过7个区的试种,面积共225.7亩,其中有149亩完全成功,平均产量208斤;高额丰产的2.9亩,单产466斤,两季合计单产1,034斤;大面积丰产的28.6亩,单产320斤,两季合计产量770斤以上;一般的也在550斤以上,均超过今年水稻丰产社的平均产量。
